Brian
is of the Ahzhamook (the cross roads) Band of Ojibwe. Namemaaji
[na-may-maa-ji] is a medicine man who passed over many years ago. He is
grandfather and teacher to Nish Nung in the ways of his people. Under his
teachings and teachings of many elders of the Great Lakes Region, Brian has
become a well known speaker and consultant in the Native American tradition.
Brian is a speaker in native healing seminars across the country and has been
for the past twenty two years. He has made appearances at the University
of Minnesota, Scholastica College, MN, Wisconsin State University, WI,
National Ontario Chiefs Council, Toronto Canada and many Ojibwe gatherings
throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and Canada. Brian addresses
cultural awareness, suicide intervention, survival skills and Indian wellness
and healing. Brian is a recognized elder and healer of the Ojibwe and is
an honorary member of the National Ontario Chiefs Council. He is a
hereditary western chief of the Ahzhamook Band of Ojibwe and is a member of the
medicine society of the Ojibwe people. Brian is a natural man of the people and
much of what has been gathered by Northeast American Cultural Resource has been
confirmed as valid and supported by Brian. Lives at Lake Lena Reservation, MN
